Autumn is Upon Us...

While summer continues, and perhaps nears the end, I am thankful to live in Lake Geneva, an area where fall is just as beautiful and pleasant as summer. Summer cabins on the lake will soon be closed up, kids will be back in school, and the leaves will begin to change into a variety of gorgeous colors.  Every time this happens I'm reminded of why I love a good Autumn Wedding. The crisp and comfortable feel in the air, the smell of the crunching leaves and ALL the colors make it such a lovely time to say "I Do."

It's so easy to incorporate the beauty of nature in autumn so really there is no better time to have a rustic wedding and boy do we love all the ideas out there!  Here are some of our favorite ways to get just the right Autumn Wedding in Lake Geneva

1. Barns- Use them, they're full of character and with the strong and simple architecture and structure mixed with the soft of what makes a wedding a wedding,  you just can't go wrong.

2. Embrace browns and the rest of the autumnal color scheme- It's raw nature and it plays with light really well. Well, if you do it just right.

3. Have fun with texture! The use of burlaps and lace against the hard wood of what is usually the base of a rustic wedding really works wonders.

Or how about this unfrosted cake for an unexpected take on rustic charm?

4. Embrace the outdoors, don't fight with it. And by doing that you make your wedding personal and intimate for you, nature, and your guests!  Check out this wedding featured on Style Me Pretty by Tyler Metcalfe Photography that we just adore!

Ok, Happy Wednesday!
