Sneak Peek at The White Party 2012!

Do you  know the old fashion rule, You can't wear white after Labor Day?  Well, summer is almost over, Labor Day is upon us, and it's time for Sunshine Daydream Events to put on one of the most classy events of the year- The White Party. What could be classier  than a white party on the shores of Lake Geneva? People will be sporting their tans that they've worked all summer to achieve and what better way to show it off then in some classy white hot duds?!

We've been scouting for some great decor items for this year's bash and here are some of the goods we'll be using. Classic whites, silvers and golds... Oh and tons of candles (thanks IKEA)!!

Love these simple little tea light holders

100 in a pack!

Votive holders. Again simple but effective in quantity. Gotta set the mood right!

Are these not amazing? Vintage coasters my mom found!

Crackled glass votive holders

Probably going to hang these somewhere...

Awesome goldy rustic woody thingy I found at a sidewalk sale. Not sure it's purpose yet but I know it has one...

OK that's all you get folks! Stay tuned for photos to come after the party!
Have a happy and safe Labor day!

Autumn is Upon Us...

While summer continues, and perhaps nears the end, I am thankful to live in Lake Geneva, an area where fall is just as beautiful and pleasant as summer. Summer cabins on the lake will soon be closed up, kids will be back in school, and the leaves will begin to change into a variety of gorgeous colors.  Every time this happens I'm reminded of why I love a good Autumn Wedding. The crisp and comfortable feel in the air, the smell of the crunching leaves and ALL the colors make it such a lovely time to say "I Do."

It's so easy to incorporate the beauty of nature in autumn so really there is no better time to have a rustic wedding and boy do we love all the ideas out there!  Here are some of our favorite ways to get just the right Autumn Wedding in Lake Geneva

1. Barns- Use them, they're full of character and with the strong and simple architecture and structure mixed with the soft of what makes a wedding a wedding,  you just can't go wrong.

2. Embrace browns and the rest of the autumnal color scheme- It's raw nature and it plays with light really well. Well, if you do it just right.

3. Have fun with texture! The use of burlaps and lace against the hard wood of what is usually the base of a rustic wedding really works wonders.

Or how about this unfrosted cake for an unexpected take on rustic charm?

4. Embrace the outdoors, don't fight with it. And by doing that you make your wedding personal and intimate for you, nature, and your guests!  Check out this wedding featured on Style Me Pretty by Tyler Metcalfe Photography that we just adore!

Ok, Happy Wednesday!

Prints and Patterns and Colors Oh My!

For me, inspiration for beauty comes from everywhere. And although I am not an artist, as a wedding and event planner I must be creative and inspired when it comes to being able to offer my clients unique color schemes and decor ideas.  Today I'm inspired by some amazing fabrics, paintings and patterns from Pinterest!
